by Scott Hamilton

November 21, 2022 © Leeham News: the film loyalty Opens November 23 in the United States.

Based on a true story, the film is about the US Navy’s first African American fighter pilot (at the time, “Negro”). The timeline is the Korean War.

Jonathan Majors and Glen Powell loyalty. attributed to him: loyalty Movie site.

Jonathan Majors and Glen Powell are the main male actors. Majors has been in eight movies before loyalty. Powell appeared in Hidden charactersAbout the first African Americans (in this case, all women) employees of NASA. Powell portrayed John Glenn, the first American astronaut to orbit the Earth.

Majors portrays Jesse Brown, an African-American. Powell portrays Tom Hudner, who becomes Brown’s closest friend in Squadron—unsurprisingly at the age he had his share of fanatics.

The film is produced by Black Label Media, which was founded by Molly Smith, daughter of FedEx founder Fred Smith. Help fund the picture. Produced by Black Label only the brave, a movie about smoke pickers in Arizona who are killed fighting wildfires; And the Sicario, Soldier’s Day.

loyalty Sprinkles Brown takes us through his family life, early days in the Navy and his efforts to qualify as a fighter pilot. A talented pilot, Brown initially had some difficulty qualifying for aircraft carrier operations (he was neither the first nor the last). His heroic actions on a mission over North Korea are followed by his crash landing in his plane. He survived the crash landing. Hudner, his wingman, makes a landing on wheels to try to free Brown from the burning wreckage.

It is a story about devotion to duty and loyalty to your wingman. This is a story about race in the Navy with Brown being the lead.

The Jets are also stars in this movie and there is a local connection to Washington State and Oregon.

Real planes, not CGI

The story is compelling and so is the flight. If moviegoers love Top Gun: Maverick To use real planes and fly real over the Cascade mountain range in Washington State, they’ll love it loyalty. Aircraft from the Korean War era Corsair to the MiG. It’s all real and flying through the Cascades is real too.

The Cascades chain doubles as the mountains of North Korea. The Columbia River between Washington and Oregon doubles down for bombing and bombing operations to destroy a major bridge. Oregon doubles down as the North Korean crash landing site.

The flight is as exciting as the story is compelling. Rating: four stars.
