Kim Kardashian continues to shine her solo allure with sleek, figure-hugging ensembles and curves in posts to her 334 million Instagram followers. The reality star, 42, uploaded a new mirror image to fans in which she is seen wearing a gray logo-printed hoodie, turtleneck top from the Balenciaga x Adidas collaboration, faded black shorts emblazoned with the iconic white adidas stripes, and black over-the-knee boots by Balenciaga from their spring collection. / Summer 2023.
While Kardashian is no stranger to statement pieces from both brands, with Balenciaga being her former favorite Kanye West and just losing her Yeezy deal with Adidas (thanks to his vehement anti-Semitic comments), some fans think this seems like interesting timing.

In the SKIMS mogul upload, she is seen sitting on a couch, posing to show the sideways side of her body and holding a phone with a black bag covering her face. Kardashian wore her long, wavy blonde locks down and parted in the middle for the snap, and seemed to be hanging out in her closet.
For her caption, the style icon who really doesn’t need an introduction kept her message to fans simple, writing, “Hi.” While garnering millions of likes in the process, Kardashian’s photo also inspired many comments of approval and others condemned her for wearing items from a label that’s currently facing backlash for her recent ads.
“Incredible character,” one fan wrote, while another conveyed his thoughts with a plethora of heart-warming emojis. Kardashian has been a brand ambassador and an outspoken fan of Balenciaga for several years now, and her ex-husband West (now known legally as Ye) teamed up for the iconic Yeezy Gap line earlier this year. The fashion powerhouse (along with Adidas) cut all ties with Ye after a series of anti-Semitic comments and controversial statements.
Balenciaga has come under fire for the new ads
In the comments section of Kardashian’s post, several fans urged the mother-of-four to “call out Balenciaga” or “stop wearing” their clothes after a recent ad campaign that didn’t sit well with many.
Balenciaga has since apologized for its controversial ad campaign, which depicted children carrying teddy bears and handbags containing fetish equipment, including seat belts, handcuffs and fishing nets. This then sparked thousands of TikTok, Twitter and Instagram users to use a new hashtag – #cancelBalenciaga this week.
Demna Gvasalia, Georgian fashion designer and creative director at Balenciaga, just released a statement via Instagram about the matter, writing, “We sincerely apologize for any offense our holiday campaign may have caused.” He continued, “Our plush bear bags should not have been featured with children in this campaign. We have immediately removed the campaign from all platforms.”
With the Kardashian, Justin Bieber, and Bella Hadid as just some of the French fashion house’s biggest models and fashion staples, many social media users keep calling them out specifically. Some of Kardashian’s most memorable outfits this year have included Balenciaga designs, like her recent cut-out pink gown she wore to last week’s Baby2Baby Gala, her black bodycon dress with a cinched waist at the label’s 51st collection show at Paris Fashion Week, and more.
