Stocks were mixed as oil prices fell in the OPEC talks

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose Monday morning, apparently Disney (DIS) stock rose nearly 10% after the company announced that Bob Iger would return as CEO. Oil prices fell in the US, as OPEC considered increasing production. Meanwhile, Tesla stock hit a new 52-week low in morning trading.

The short holiday week will receive a flurry of economic data on Wednesday, including Consumer Confidence, Durable Goods Orders, First Jobless Claims, Fed Meeting Minutes, PMI readings and New Home Sales. The stock market will be closed on Thursday for Thanksgiving, along with a shortened trading session on Friday.

This week’s earnings reports include: Baidu (Started), best buy (BBY), monastery (From), Lee Otto (LI), Nordstrom (JWN), Urban Outfitters (civilized), Video zoom (ZM).

Cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase (COIN) Down Nearly 3% Bitcoin Price Dropped 2.5% As Crash Related to FTX’s Bankruptcy Could Widen. electric car giant Tesla (TSLA) was trading down more than 3% Monday morning as the company released a software update related to the taillights of more than 300,000 vehicles.

Technology pioneers at Dow Jones apple (AAPL) and Microsoft (MSFT) was mixed after the stock market opened today.

Dow jones today: oil prices and treasury yields

After Monday’s opening bell, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.1%, while the S&P 500 fell 0.25%. The high-tech Nasdaq Composite fell 0.4% in the morning move.

Among exchange-traded funds, the Nasdaq 100-tracking Invesco QQQ Trust (QQQ) lost 0.3% early Monday, and the SPDR S&P 500 ETF (SPY) fell 0.25%.

The 10-year Treasury yield fell to 3.78% Monday morning, threatening to force a two-day winning streak. Meanwhile, US oil prices fell more than 4% on Monday after the Wall Street Journal reported that OPEC is considering increasing production by up to 500,000 barrels per day. West Texas Intermediate futures traded below $77 a barrel on Monday.

Stock market rise

The Nasdaq closed nearly flat on Friday, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average and S&P 500 posted gains of 0.6% and 0.5%, respectively.

Tesla stock

Tesla shares slid another 2.6% on Friday, falling sharply for the third straight session. The stock hit a 52-week low on Friday at 176.55. Tesla shares are down about 55% from their 52-week highs and sharply below the 50- and 200-day moving average lines.

Shares of the EV giant were trading down 3.5% Monday morning, hitting a new 52-week low.

Dow Jones leaders: Apple and Microsoft

Among Dow Jones stocks, Apple shares rose 0.4% on Friday, adding to Thursday’s gains and continuing its recovery from support around the 50-day line. The stock was trading down 1.6% on Monday.

Microsoft fell on Friday, still holding above the 50-day line that was recently recovered. The software giant is still about 30% off its 52-week high. Shares of Microsoft rose 0.8% Monday morning.
